Swallow's entrance

Many old houses are semi-open for half the year, and swallows avail themselves of the hospitality. This family of swallows has been given its own marked entrance.

Swallows are said to choose busy entranceways for building their nests because the two-legged creatures frighten the crows which would otherwise eat the baby swallows. Nobody seems to mind the guano.
